Teens on Stage
Teens On Stage offers the chance to stage the best contemporary English plays written specifically for teenagers.
The schools and theatre courses will be able to choose between three different plays, one of which in English and two translated in Italian. In May 2018 the different groups will have the chance to stage the plays in on of Milan’s theatres. Teens On Stage is part of the Milano Playwriting Festival project.
During the course of the year guidance for the direction, staging and logistics will be provided to the schools involved, along with continual assistance from our team.
A conference with the author of the chosen text, directly from England, will be scheduled; this is a unique opportunity to dialogue and deepen the understanding of the text and how it is written.
The schools will be able to work on the best contemporary plays and especially to work together in a diverse environment: at the end of each show there will be a moment dedicated to discuss the play and to learn from each other.
Thanks to the staging of the productions, the beating heart of the Teens On Stage project, the students will benefit and learn form the experience of working in a theatre with professionals, they will read their names in the theatre programme and a teenage jury will evaluate they work. On Sunday, after the final show, the winning school will be elected.
